Hawzah News Agency- Hojatoleslam Amir Hossein Kamel Navvab, a lecturer and researcher in the field of sects and religions, made the remarks in a commentary examining the relationship between Baha'ism and the Zionist movement.
He noted that the arrival of Zionist Jews in Palestine coincided with the leadership of Shoghi Effendi, the last Baha'i leader, and the gradual occupation of Palestinian land — a period that laid the groundwork for alignment between the Baha'i movement and Zionism.
Baha'i betrayal of humanity
"The treachery of the Baha'is is not merely against Islam or Palestine; it is a betrayal of humanity itself and of the dignity of human beings," Navvab said.
He argued that Britain first facilitated the settlement of Jews in Palestine, and the current era has witnessed the consequences of that policy.
"In the time of Shoghi Effendi, we find strange statements from Baha'i leaders endorsing the occupation. He claimed this land originally belonged to the Zionists and expressed happiness that it had returned to them," the researcher stated.
'Fates intertwined like chains'
Navvab pointed to remarks by Ruhi Maxwell, wife of Shoghi Effendi, who said the destinies of Baha'is and Zionists are interwoven like the links of a chain.
"This is an accurate characterization. The alignment between the criminal Zionists and the Baha'is has reached a point where their fates are indeed bound together — if one is harmed, the other will also suffer," he said.
He noted that Israel has consistently risen to defend the Baha'is, citing statements by an Israeli prime minister who claimed Israel refrained from attacking Iran partly to preserve Baha'i heritage sites in the country.
"If they have the courage, let them attack. We ourselves will deal with Baha'i properties. They were merely using this as an excuse to mask their own weakness and fear," Navvab said.
Support for Israeli strikes on Iran
The researcher also pointed to the recent 12-day war, saying Baha'is openly supported Israeli strikes against Iran and expressed satisfaction over the killing of their own compatriots.
"This alliance between Israel and Baha'ism has existed from the past and continues to this day. With the destruction of Israel, these agents and these hands of the Zionist regime across the world, including in Iran, will also be eliminated," Navvab concluded.
